MilitaryStuck!Eridan Ampora
I made an alternate cosplay version of Eridan Ampora, based on artwork by artist Mookie000 on tumblr. It was common for artists to design alternate outfit versions of the Homestuck characters, and this design struck me as one that I wanted to try bringing to life.

Construction Process
The “Militarystuck” design used a lot of the same methods as my original Eridan cosplay for the base look, with the addition of some new sewn costume pieces and props.
I created a fake ermine fur capelet with white faux fur (left over from my Matsi fursuit) and short black feathers (left over from my Bec Noir cosplay,) then created a separate cape and distressed it with holes and ragged edges towards the bottom. I ordered a hat online for the base, and then decorated it further.
I had fabric custom-printed with patterned designs, then used that to sew a double-breasted cotton vest lined with satin, and decorated it with gold braided rope on the cuffs. Button covers were created out of sculpey clay and attached to the actual sewn-on buttons to clasp it closed.
Finally, I created a pair of arm sleeves out of grey stockings and fake nails to wear so I didn’t need to apply makeup to my hands.
